We recommend using an efficient ‘One Submission’ approach with a single template
updated throughout the year. SubCruncher will handle high-quality conversions
automatically. Your only remaining task is to adapt feedback related to Chambers or
Legal 500 rankings.
Legal 500 to Chambers
Use the Legal 500 submission as your base template because:
-
Its cell-based structure, especially in Work Highlight boxes, converts
reliably to Chambers format.
-
It includes unique sections not in Chambers, like ‘Initiatives and
Innovation,’ ‘Next Generation Partner,’ and a ‘Publishable Matter
Summary’ of your top three works.
-
All relevant Legal 500 sections convert seamlessly to Chambers.
Note on converting to Chambers-only categories:
-
Section D9/E9 (‘Other information about this matter’), where you
include links to press coverage, is the only significant Chambers
section that doesn’t feature in the Legal 500 submission template,
which asks you to put press links in its ‘Matter description’ box. For
easy conversion to Chambers, write ‘Other information:’ before any
links you include in the Legal 500 ‘Matter Description’ box.
Chambers to Legal 500
Most Chambers submission info matches Legal 500’s requirements, but subtle
differences - especially in ‘Matter Highlight’ boxes - may affect conversion quality.
Tips for best results:
- Next Generation Partner:
Chambers submissions lack a ‘Next
Generation Partner’ field. To ensure a lawyer is categorized as such
when converting to Legal 500, add ‘NGP’ in the Partner Y/N column
before conversion.
See example.
- Lead Partners and other key team members:
Chambers uses one
data field, while Legal 500 splits out ‘Name’, ‘Office’, and ‘Practice
Area’. For best results, enter details as: Name – Office – Practice area,
using a semicolon or line break to separate each lawyer.
See example.
- Other firms advising on the matter and their role:
Chambers has
one field; Legal 500 asks for ‘Firm Name’, ‘Role Details’, and ‘Advising’.
Use: Firm name – Role details – Advising (client name), with a
semicolon or line break after each entry for clean separation.
